Capítulo 5: Chapter 5 Eating_1

In his panic, he desperately turned the steering wheel to the right, but the car's engine was already maxed out. The vehicle took a wide turn and smashed into the wall of a nearby building. In the process, it cracked open the head of a zombie, revealing its perfectly intact brain! The front of the car was instantly wrecked, and the muscular man's head collided with the steering wheel, his brain splattering and killing him instantly.

The passenger and two people seated in the back were no better off, passing out instantly from the impact. Only the man known as Old Liu, being cushioned on both sides by bodies in the back seat, had not sustained serious injuries.

Glancing at the frantic zombies outside the car, Old Liu instantly made a decision. He grabbed a bag full of food with one hand and a machete with the other, kicked open the car door, and got out!

He didn't want to be responsible for others; his own life was what mattered most. He made his way towards the nearest staircase leading to a large building, intending to find a safe place to hide, thinking he could find somewhere safe.

Tang Ye, who was laying on the ground, felt bothered by the noise outside interrupting his sleep. He wanted to go down and see what was happening, but then he heard the sound of hurried footsteps on the staircase. Leaning on the railing to look down, he saw a young man with a bag in one hand and a knife in the other, fleeing for his life!

"Huh..."

Tang Ye felt a surge of excitement. He believed in some Taoist stories that said saving a life was better than creating a seven-story pagoda. This was his second rescue; he figured that even if he went to hell, he would be treated better!

Doing good deed for some personal gain after all

Looking around, there were no suitable weapons to be seen. Only near a water pipe were some bricks lying around. Prioritizing saving someone, Tang Ye picked up a somewhat intact brick and rushed downstairs.

Old Liu, in his panic, was scrambling up the stairs. A quick glance over his shoulder at the oncoming horde of zombies like a tide sent a chill down his spine. He dashed up another level, only to come face-to-face with a zombie brandishing a brick.

Old Liu was taken aback. It was his first time in these three days in the apocalypse seeing a weapon-wielding zombie. Alert, he tentatively raised his machete, readying himself to behead this zombie.

Tang Ye watched as the zombies pursued Old Liu, flinging his brick forward. Old Liu recoiled in fear but realized a second later that the brick hadn't been thrown at him but had instead hit the zombie behind him, causing his head to bleed.

Feeling relief wash over him and finding the zombie's aim to be fatally poor, he continued to sprint towards Tang Ye, brandishing his machete to swing at him.

Fuck!

Tang Ye cursed in his mind as he noticed Old Liu's next move. If that machete came swinging down, he was dead meat! In his panic, Tang Ye darted to the right, but Old Liu's machete still slashed his shoulder, cutting off a large chunk of flesh.

Seeing that his strike hadn't killed Tang Ye and with the zombies closing in, Old Liu sprang over the fallen Tang Ye and hurriedly continued his ascent.

Tang Ye was left dumbfounded. Although he was a zombie and didn't feel pain, he still lost a big chunk of flesh trying to save someone. This only affected his good looks.

F*ckin' hell...Fuck!!

Tang Ye roared in his mind. Who would feel good about being slashed after trying to save someone?

If he had known, he wouldn't have saved him. He deserved to be chased by the zombies, deserved to be eaten! He should have bitten him just now! Hehe... Bitten him... that should be good enough...

Tang Ye was silently cursing Old Liu, but his thoughts began to shift, and he felt a shudder.

That strange thought was happening again!

Ignorance was bliss. Once Tang Ye was conscious of the unnatural craving, it began to consume his mind and refuse to go away!

His brain kept sending signals to his body that he wanted to eat, making him panicky. It hadn't been long, and that longing was hitting him again!

He felt like he should chase after Old Liu and feed on him brutally. However, Tang Ye suppressed that immediate urge, reminding himself of his humanity!

With his body slightly bent, Tang Ye managed to get up and ran towards the top of the building. He must find some food to eat; otherwise, he might fully turn into a monster!

Arriving at the bottom of the building, Tang Ye blankly surveyed his surroundings then glanced at the building he'd just come down from. He felt uneasy, having done a good deed but not receiving a good result, which stirred a slight frenzy within him, which was quickly suppressed.

There were no supermarkets nearby, but two streets away, there was a Lianyi Supermarket. However, it was too far. He didn't know if he could make it that far. He remembered there being a market, but that was even further!

Tang Ye spun around frantically, surrounded by numerous corner stores. What was he supposed to do right now? His brain demanding more meat was becoming increasingly intense.

Why...why did he hurt me? Clearly...I was there to save him! Why did he hit me! He...he cut a piece of my flesh off, I...I… I am going to eat him, he must pay the price!

Tang Ye felt as though his consciousness was being overpowered by another presence. Innumerable voices echoed within his mind, voicing the blood-thirsty desires!

Roar!

Tang Ye let out an enraged roar. It seemed as if this was the only way to release the terrifying emotions in his head, but it didn't work. The blood-thirsty thoughts were still fiercely spinning in his mind.

Tang Ye must feed on flesh! Otherwise, he cannot calm down!

Eat flesh! Eat flesh! I need to eat flesh!

Tang Ye's eyes turned bloodshot at the thought, and right at that moment, a zombie crossed his path. Tang Ye wondered, can zombie flesh be eaten?

Tang Ye didn't have time to think about it. He didn't want to be controlled by this urge anymore. He pulled the zombie towards him, opened his mouth wide, and bit into its arm.

Hiss~

A ripping sound echoed as Tang Ye bit off a chunk of zombie flesh.

A smacking sound followed~

Tang Ye frowned; the taste of zombie flesh wasn't great. It was akin to chewing on wax, but it was much better than the potato chips he had consumed earlier at the supermarket. However, he didn't feel like having it a second time!

This won't do! It hasn't gone away! What should I do??

Trying hard to suppress the horrible sensation of frenzy, striving not to let himself turn into a beast, he was ready to risk it all and try to make it to the supermarket he remembered. He didn't care if there was enough time or not.

"Huh?" Tang Ye spotted a zombie lying lifeless under the wrecked SUV,

After turning into a zombie, his body's skin and internal organs had begun to rot. Tang Ye had a hunch as he saw the half-headed zombie, but he didn't have time to think it over. He had to give it a try, now that he was already a zombie!

He quickly ran towards the dead zombie, mentally resisting the idea, but the need overpowering his mind quickly squashed his reluctance.
