SASUKE: "Do you know anything about tailed beasts?"
Naruto doesn't know much about tailed beast. Only thing he know is that nine tail fox attack village 12 years ago and fourth Hokage died fighting it.
NARUTO: "Nine tail fox attack our village 12 years ago and I am its jinchuriki."
SASUKE: "There is a lot you don't know. Lets start with some information about them. Number of tailed beast is nine. Gaara was jinchuriki of one tailed beast, Shukaku. Similarly there is two tails beast, three tails beast, up to the nine tails that is sealed inside of you. These tailed beast have lived for thousands of years, and when they were born they use to help humans. But over the years humans started war with each other and they saw the tailed beast as weapon. They started hunting them in order to use them in their war.
Do you know who founded our village?"
NARUTO: "It was first Hokage."
SASUKE: "Our village was founded by first Hokage Hashirama Senju and his friend Madara Uchiha. But they have some disagreement which lead to a battle between them. Madara Uchiha put nine tail fox in genjutsu and use him to fight first Hokage. But first Hokage wasn't call 'god of shinobi' for nothing, he kicked the asses of both nine tails and Madara alone."
[KURAMA: 'It was an intense battle and Hashirama barely won, and I was put in genjutsu, so I wasn't able to fight at my best.']
Kurama didn't like the way Sasuke said he got his ass kicked alongside Madara. Sasuke ignored Kurama.
SASUKE: "As I was saying, first Hokage wipe the floor with Madara Uchiha and nine tails box. He killed Madara Uchiha in that fight, and sealed nine tail fox in his wife 'Mito Uzumaki'. He didn't stop there, he captured the other tailed beast and give them as gifts to other village in order to order to strengthen other villages so that they can keep each other in check.
I know what you are thinking, why did he do something like that. Tailed beast has nothing to do with the war between humans. They just want their freedom and live peacefully without being disturbed by us humans. If first Hokage was a hero like everybody thinks then why did he do that?"
Naruto wasn't thinking that, he was just wondering how strong first Hokage was to beat nine tail fox and a guy who can put him in genjutsu, alone. But when Sasuke mention this he put his attention to this point. It was indeed unfair to tail beasts to be treated like that.
NARUTO: "Yeah, if he was a good guy then why did he capture tailed beasts?"
SASUKE: "Well Naruto, he was human, he didn't try to understand tailed beast. They are not mindless beasts as everybody thinks, they are intelligent creature, far better than us humans. First Hokage only saw them as weapon just like everyone else."
NARUTO: "….But….he still attack our village 12 years ago, my mom and dad died fighting him."
SASUKE: "First of all, kyubi has been imprisoned by our village for a very long time and for no reason, even if he attacked our village, fault lies with us for imprisoning him. Secondly, he didn't attack our village at his own will, he was again controlled by genjutsu, and forced to attack our village. When your mother was giving birth to you, the seal containing the kyubi weakened. An enemy of our village attack at that time, he released the kyubi and put it in genjutsu in order to attack the village. The kyubi has been sealed for very long time, although he hate the village and humans for sealing him but he would have never attack the village, he would have just run away. It is true for any tailed beast, as long as you don't attack them, they will also leave you alone. Your dad manage to break the genjutsu, but he tried to seal the kyubi inside you. If he had just let him go and not try to seal him inside you, he wouldn't have died. After the genjutsu was broken, kyubi didn't attack the village, he tried to leave but your dad forcefully tried to seal him inside you, and kyubi fought for his freedom resulting in the death of your dad. Tell me Naruto, can you really blame the kyubi for your father's death?"
NARUTO: "What about my mom, does she also try to seal him inside of me?"
SASUKE: "Your mom wouldn't have survived either way, if the tailed beast is released from the jinchuriki, then the jinchuriki dies. But yeah, your mom did fight the kyubi alongside your father. She was jinchuriki herself so she understood that your life will be very tough if you became jinchuriki, so she wasn't willing to make you jinchuriki but your dad was determined. She was very weak due to childbirth and the kyubi was also released from her so she was near her death, but she still manage to suppress and pin down kyubi. Your mom was a badass. It was only because of her that your dad manage to seal the kyubi inside of you. If he had tried sealing it back inside of her instead of you then she might have survived.
Everybody thinks your dad died protecting the village and fighting the kyubi, but your dad died because he tried sealing the kyubi inside you, if he let the kyubi go, he wouldn't have died. But how can he let the village lose the power of nine tails. So he died, not protecting the village or you, but he died because he was sealing the nine tails inside you."
It was a lot of information for Naruto to digest. He always thought that his parents died in nine tails attack and he hated the kyubi for their death, now he understand that he cannot blame kyubi for that. Naruto didn't know what to say.
NARUTO: "Who attacked them? Who released the nine tailed fox?"
SASUKE: "I think you should ask the kyubi. He went through everything, he is the best option for answering your questions. He is holding hatred and resentment against humans for many centuries. He has been sealed alone with no one to talk to for a long time. Try being his friend and gaining his trust. If you win his trust you will gain a very reliable friend for life."
Naruto was surprised, he didn't expect Sasuke to suggest befriending the tailed beast.
NARUTO: "I can befriend him?"
SASUKE: "Yes Naruto, you can befriend him. If there is anyone able to pacify his hatred, it is you Naruto, you can make the kyubi let go of his hatred and become your friend."
NARUTO: "Ok, I will make him my friend, believe it."
SASUKE: "Ok then, how about we go and meet him. He don't like humans but if you gain his trust and he is willing to accept you as his friend then he will tell you his name. While we are at it let also meet your dad."
Naruto was confused again, how are they going to meet his dad. Before Naruto can say anything, Sasuke pulled him inside his mind space, and both of them were in front of a cage. Kyubi was sealed behind the cage sleeping. He was expecting Sasuke and Naruto to visit and he felt them in front of him but he didn't open his eyes.
