Capítulo 31: The system
Roger caught James, who was screaming like a maniac and trying to stab Roger. After grabbing James's hand holding the knife, Roger squeezed it with all his strength, breaking the hand.
"AHHHH!" James squealed as Roger kept crushing his hand. "Stop!"
"How about I will do this instead?" Roger smirked as he punched him into the stomach as hard as he could. Roger's fist pierced James's stomach and exited through his back. Even Roger was surprised. "Holy shit!"
James coughed blood, and when Roger pulled his hand out, James fell to the ground.
"Wow, I guess I am quite strong!" Roger exclaimed while looking at his bloody hand. "Before I forget…." Roger said and spat on James' face.
[Quest complete: Thing #1]
"Nice, tho you could think of better quest titles," Roger said to the Chaos after seeing a notification. Then he turned to Jack, who was trembling in fear.
Jack wanted to run, but he couldn't. Fear made him freeze on the spot, and he couldn't hold his bladder, so he pissed his pants.
"P-please, don't kill me! We're family!" Jack pleaded on his knees. The pee was dripping through his pants onto the floor.
"He's family too!" Roger smiled and pointed the finger at his dead brother. "Well, he was family!"
"No!" Jack started crying. Tears and snot were flowing down his face. He tried clinging to Roger's leg as a last resort. However, Jack received a kick to the head instead. Jack's head was blown after Roger's leg touched it, blowing Jack's brains and blood all over the wall.
"Disgusting!" Roger frowned when he noticed that his pants were now soaked in blood.
[What do you want to do now?] Chaos asked.
"Eh? Shouldn't you guide me or something?" Roger raised his brows in confusion.
[Eh? No haha!~] Chaos started laughing. [I told you already! I am here to give you some hints and quests, but I am not planning to intrude in your life!~]
"Eh, should I run?" Roger asked.
[You still have a random creation, you know.]
"Alright, I want to use a random creation reward."
Suddenly, a small blue bag with a white ribbon appeared in Roger's hand. The bag looked cute, though. Roger opened it and looked inside to see what kind of things he would get out of the bag, but it was empty.
"That's it?" Roger asked while staring at the bag. He was slightly annoyed that the bag was too cute for his taste. "And what's up with the ribbon?"
[This is a divine storage bag!~ Yup, I can make god-tier objects.]
Roger looked at the bag one more time and smirked. Suddenly, he turned his gaze to the dead bodies and pointed the storage bag at them.
[W-what are you doing?]
Roger did not answer and used the storage bag to gather the corpses. Then, he quickly drained the blood with his healing ability into his own body.
[Genius!] Chaos shouted while making a noise that reminded clapping.
"Eh?"
[Not only cleaned up this whole mess but also got stronger by absorbing their mana and blood!]
"Eh?!" Roger exclaimed. He had no idea what Chaos was talking about, but the fact that he was getting stronger by absorbing blood intrigued him. "So, I am a vampire or something?"
[The blood you absorbed into your body contained mana. Not only is your body getting more robust, but you can also use the talents and spells of the people and monsters whose blood you absorb.]
"That's amazing! Thanks for the info!" Roger smirked.
Chaos sighed after realizing that Roger did not plan to become more powerful this way. He mainly wanted to watch Roger's life as if it were a movie, except when he felt it was interesting to give a quest or two.
[You had no idea that you're getting stronger, right?]
"Nope. I was cleaning this mess." Roger answered with a slight grin on his face. Roger understood that Chaos did not plan on giving him much leverage over the rest of the people because it wouldn't be as interesting for Chaos.
[Fuck you.] Chaos cursed and stayed quiet from that moment.
"Now then, how does this work?" Roger asked, but Chaos didn't answer him.
Roger sat down on the floor and tried using different types of magic until he discovered he could create a fireball. However, after four spells, he could no longer recreate it.
"Tsk." Roger clicked his tongue and stood up. He decided to go to the forest to train and absorb as many monsters as possible. So he left the barn and started walking toward the forest.
Chaos spoke again after reading Roger's thoughts. [This is a great idea, but… Are you sure about that?]
"Why do you ask? Is something wrong?" Roger stopped walking to listen to what Chaos had to say.
[Well, what you did would be considered dark magic because you slowly lose your humanity and become more of a demon than a human.]
"That's fucking awesome!"
[True.] Chaos chuckled. [Good luck! By the way, say status. I created a system interface!~]
"Alright. Status"

Roger stood still and listened to Chaos' voice, which was no longer a robotic voice. It was more of a girl's.

"Why the fuck do you sound like a girl now?!"
[Eh?!] Realization hit Chaos as well. Before, it sounded like Roger's voice but distorted. But now that Chaos fixed the system's interface, its voice changed to a female's voice. It sounded very sexy and seductive. [I have no idea! How do I change this?!]
Chaos started to search for a way to change its voice back to normal but realized he couldn't. So after a few minutes of searching, Chaos realized that its voice simply reflected its past life, before it became a skill called 'Chaotic creation'.
Meanwhile, Roger repeatedly read his stats and wanted to cash in his available rewards. However, from his gaming understanding, he knew that some rewards were better if you used them later in the game, so he asked Chaos for advice.
"I noticed that I already have a reward available. Do you want me to redeem it? Can you tell me what the prize is?"
[Yes, you can. Do not think twice about it because it's a passive talent that will help you level up quicker. It would be a waste if you postponed for later levels to redeem it].
"All right."
Roger pointed his finger at the reward he could redeem. He pushed the virtual button and heard a notification tone.
