Ellena felt awkward when Xavier's big hands pulled her into the middle of the garden and started dancing with her. She had learned to dance under Madam Elroy's tutelage, she had also learned high-class lady manners and table manners, but still, when dozens of pairs of eyes stared at her like now… she suddenly felt like everything she had learned had evaporated somewhere.
"Just follow my lead. There's no need for weird moves," said Xavier coldly.
The man's deep voice snapped Elena out of her thoughts. She looked up and stared at Xavier. Could this man read minds? How did he know that Elena was worried about her dancing steps?
Xavier looked back at Elena. But his gaze was not at all friendly. His gaze was so cold and piercing it made Elena tremble and finally cast her gaze elsewhere.
"Th-thanks for the dance…" the girl mumbled in a barely audible voice when the music finished.
