Davi sat on the floor looking up at Ivo's still face and willing him to wake up. It was terrifying to know that they might have to make a decision, and that that decision might cost him his life.

On the other hand, they couldn't leave him in this limbo forever.

Thiago kept working at the workstation, inspecting readings from Ivo's vital signs, looking over the integration of the mods with his body and verifying that everything was working as intended.

"You know, I think he really isn't going to wake up until we activate that protocol," he said, standing over Davi and looking down at Ivo's still face.

"Has she found anything else?"

"Preliminary readings indicate that the protocol will return him to some previous condition. What that condition entails, we can't know."
