Capítulo 96: Deeper into the neon night

The entryway outside the apartment was deserted, but it wouldn't stay that way for long. In the distance Ivo could hear the skid of heavy rubber soles on the marble stairways, and the soft wheeze of the elevator ascending to their floor.

Davi went down the stairs two at a time, down three fights of stairs and then through the access door and into the landing.

Alina was there waiting for them, looking confused.

"I heard someone coming down the stairway, I thought it was the two of you but I just saw the back of some guy running away, clutching a kid to his chest."

"That was Lucas Yoric."

She sputtered, looking between the two of them. "What the fuck was he doing here?"

"Ask him," Davi said, nodding at Ivo. He walked around Alina and towards the plastic bag behind her. He took out two maintenance jumpsuits, similar to what Alina was already wearing.

He threw one of uniforms at Ivo, and snapped, "Get dressed."
