Daphne was determined to no longer remain trapped within her own bedroom.
It had been quite a long time since she last felt the way that the sun basked on her skin. Sure, in some ways, that was a difficult thing to ask for here in the Northern Kingdom.
The skies were more often gray than clear, and for a good portion of the week, there would be some kind of precipitation.
Everyone around her had told her that the harshest winter storms were yet to come and that the light amount of snow buildup on the ground was like nothing.
But today was different.
Today, the sun shone so brightly that the rays of gold had pierced through her curtains.
The moment that she opened her eyes, she saw them.
They beckoned to her, calling her to bask under their glorious rays.
She missed the sun, the feeling of natural warmth that seeped past her skin and into her bones, warming her from inside out.
