Capítulo 46: Back to the Start?

The rest of the ride proceeded in silence. As the carriage slowly moved back toward the capital city, the afternoon sun was already crawling down the horizon. The rays of light refracted back from the glistening snow sparkled like a thousand scattered diamonds. 

Korbin moved to the other side of the carriage, his fist propping up his glum face.

Daphne stared at him, wondering what he was thinking of at that moment. 

It seemed like they were forever trapped in this limbo, their interactions resetting such that they forever ended back at the starting point. 

The sunlight lit up his amber eyes and the side of his face, illuminating it in an unfitting angelic glow. 

If he hadn't done all those horrible things, would she have fallen in love with him? Even if it was just an arranged marriage between the North and Eversun, she might have grown attached to him over time. Maybe, in an alternate reality, they could have made a happy couple.
