Capítulo 16: Trust?
The manananggal tongue almost came in contact with Gabi but Jorogumo rapidly fired her web to cause the manananggal to halt in her movements to untangle her tongue due to the webs twisting her tongue into knots.
" Why are you just standing there Gabi?! Run you fool!" Jorogumo shouted.
Gabi touched his scar and felt the deep slash wound the displeasing curse left on him. Gabi looks at Jorogumo with a fierce look attached to his face.
" We are not running. I'm not backing down on my goal"
Gabi dashed to the manananggal, the occupied curse who was busy trying to take off the extremely sticky webs that were covering one of her greatest weapons.
Jorogumo ran behind him to cover Gabi's openings from the enemy they were facing.
" Gabi, you should know no matter how many times you kill this curse it will increase their strength, their hunger for blood, and their speed." The servant informed her master.
Gabi grabs the manananggal tongue and Jorogumo transforms her human body into her spider form. Gabi pulled the cannibal monster's tongue down so he could land a blow on her face and Jorogumo jumped in and used four of her legs to repeatedly land a powerful blow shot into the manananggal body causing her body to separate into two parts again seeing her intestines coming out of her stomach and Gabi finish it off by roundhouse kick that flung her away from the two.
" How are we supposed to kill her for good?" Gabi questioned Jorogumo while trying to catch his breath.
Jorogumo returns to her human form, " I heard a tale of how to kill them. We will have to see if it will work."
Gabi went back into his fighting stance by having his fist near his cheek level, one fist tucked close to his face while the other was extended a few inches away.
" A fairytale really? It's all just false rumors Jorogumo!" Gabi scoffed at the girl.
" Some fairytales have truth to them, stop being stubborn and just listen for once."
While the two were having their differences the manananggal got up from the ground and the insides in her body were moving around like it had a mind of its own. Even though the webs had her tongue in knots she still had her razor-sharp nails to tear her meal into pieces to consume it. When the bitter pair was continually arguing, Gabi's senses were alerted and he noticed that the manananggal disappeared from his sight.
" where the hell did it go?" Gabi questions himself out loud.
Jorogumo tried to find the tricky curse but she couldn't sense it at all. " There's no time to bicker anymore Gabi. You will have to trust me. That's the only way we can survive this place if we trust each other." Jorgumo told the hot-headed boy
"I guess…."
Gabi was cut off when a fly creature zoomed towards him and snatched him up like he was a little feeble prey against a savage predator.
" GABIMARU" Jorogumo screamed.
Jorgumo didn't have any other option but to find the weapon that could put this curse to an end for good. Jorgumo went into her spider form and ran for the hills to look for the solution that would stop this madness.
On the other hand, Gabi was in the air soaring through the dark skies. The manananggal pierced her razor nails into his forearm to make sure her snack wouldn't escape from her grasp.
Gabi tried to wiggle out of her grip but it was stupid of him because if the curse didn't kill him the high fall would definitely finish him off.
The knotted tongue was moving all over Gabi's face like a dog welcoming their owner with a lot of affection.
" I love the way you taste." The curse said with a raspy tone getting turned on by the taste that's arousing her taste buds. "I just can't wait to taste your insides. I will rip your flesh off your body and feast on you" The curse started to laugh like a psycho maniac and she increased the speed of her wings to go faster to her destination to enjoy her dinner.
( I can't even use my other curses that are in my arsenal from this high up from the ground. The kappa will just be useless, the stupid three weasels will just shred her up and that will lead to my death and just make her stronger when they do kill her. I hope Jorogumo knows what to do.)
Gabi had no choice but to watch the view underneath him and he could hear the screams of the humans being eating and see dark figure shadows roaming around on the ground.
( I don't know how Higanbana admires this place. Something is very much wrong with her.)
While Gabi was being held hostage Jorogumo went to the outside of Higabana hideout. In the place everyone feasts of humans besides Higabana. The queen herself doesn't lower herself to even place her mouth on another human. Outside of her eerie mansion, there is a garden where her servants plant herbs to create meals for their leader. Jorogumo searches the garden to look for a special herb that the manananggal dislike. When she finally found what she was looking for she grabbed a handful of it hoping the tale she heard was accurate. Jorogumo went to look for her master, praying that nothing would happen because if Gabi died, so would she.
The manangaggal went to her bolthole where she ate her dinner that she wanted to savor every moment. Her bolthole was located on the top of a tall tree that was at least 250 feet from the ground. She threw the boy into her place and when he was there he could smell death. The odor was so revolting that he threw up immediately once the smell entered his system.
The curse broke into a burst of crooked laughter and she was amused by the human she picked up."I have devoured a lot of humans and none of them reacted like you." she grazed her nails together to make them sharper so she won't have a problem slicing him up.
Gabi saw how she was closing the distance, even though her hideout was small and beat up Gabi knew he couldn't make too many movements because the roughed-up wood might break. He countered her movements by scooting back but soon felt his back touching the walls of the hideout.
(I really don't want to die but if I had to choose I would rather fall to my death than getting eating by her.)
The manananggal raised her sharp nails in the air ready to slice his face but before she could even reach his face Gabi did something that surprised the curse.
" Come out Kamaitachi." Gabi orders his servant to help him.
From Gabi's shadow, three weasels came out of it and leaped right into the mangaggal chopping her tongue into pieces along with her face. She soon fell on her back waving her two hands like a maniac to push the three speedy rodents off her but it was no luck. The kamaitachi moves at the speed of light and it's hard to tell their movements.
The rundown tree house that's on top of the tree was rocking back and forth due to too much movement activity going on in the small space. Soon one of the floor planks started to crack and Gabi knew he had to do something. While the kamaitachi kept the mangaggal busy Gabi took a peek out the window and saw Jorogumo running towards where he was at.
( She said to trust her. Even though trust is not in my vocabulary I guess I don't have any options left.)
The box-up hideout started to break down and all the beings who were in it slid out of the box and fell in mid-air. Gabi dismissed the kamaitachi and grabbed the Manananggal trying to use her to break his fall but in the back of his mind, he knew it was pointless because he would feel the impact too, his only hope was Jorogumo. The two almost reach the ground and Jorogumo uses her 8 legs to increase her speed to save her master before he even touches the ground Jorogumo leaps in the air and safely secures her lifeline in her arms. Unfortunately the manananggal fell on the ground and broke most of her body parts. Jorogumo drops Gabi on the ground causing him to hurt his bottom.
" What was that for?!" Gabi sneered at the spider.
" For being hard-headed." Jorogumo pulled out the herbs and showed Gabi "This will end her life for sure."
Gabi squinted his eyes to see what was in her hand and when he saw the object he shot a glare towards her "Garlic? What is garlic going to do? This is not some vampire movie and that curse is not Dracula." Gabi was irritated because, in a life-and-death situation, he thought Jorogumo was playing some sick games.
Jorogumo sucked her teeth. " You didn't say anything when I saved your life."
Gabi rolled his eyes and was about to say something but the curse that once had broken bones started healing and she was lifting her body off the ground cracking the bones back into place. The curse was in an exorcism pose trying to put her back into place to stand on her two feet.
" I will kill you both," she said in a scratchy voice.
Before she could stand on her legs Gabi got up and raised his left leg to his head and used his force to aim in the middle of his stomach and Jorogumo used this chance to shove the garlic in the open of her stomach. The two of them back away from the curse at the same time being on guard to see what will happen next. The curse fell back down and soon her inside started to ooze out like someone poured acid on her. The curse was screaming and slicing her own flesh and bone to try and take the garlic out of her but it was too late. The gruesome curse that once was a whole being soon turned into a pool of black mud.
" We did it." Gabi was exhausted to the point he fell on the ground not even minding the bugs crawling on him.
" I thought a fairytale was nothing but false, sir" Jorogumo cheeky smiled at him trying to aggravate the boy.
The black mud that was in front of him turned into a shadow and soon joined Gabi.
" Hush up you insect. Let's rest real quick before we go hunting." Gabi orders the girl and shuts his eyes for a couple of minutes to regain his energy back.
[ do you guys want a time skip or gabi hunting for more curses? If I do the time skip I will make a summary about the low-grade curses he has with him ]
