At his words, Demonlord Tarkan instantly fell to his knees and smashed his head down to the ground in abject terror.

"M-my Lord! I have failed you! I have failed you!! Please forgive! Please forgive meee!!" He cried out in great fear.

I could only frown deeply at the incongruency of it all.

That Demonlord Tarkan could face certain death at my hands with the immovable calmness of an ocean under a hot sun with absolutely no wind at all, and then be completely terrified at the appearance of what could only be the Demon Emperor, was confusing for me, to put it very mildly.

"What the hell? Is death under my hands not real death? Or does the Demon Emperor offer something more terrifying than death? But what the hell could be more terrifying than death??" I thought to myself sourly.
