Ruby

In the restroom, Ruby splashed water on her face, then patted it dry with a paper towel. All through their meal, Tommy kept scoping out the place like he expected a suicide bomber or gunman to storm in. The nerves dancing across her skin had made her devour her food so fast it now sat like a rock in her stomach.

Then he barely spoke to her before taking off for the jukebox on the other side of the restaurant. To everyone else, it would appear a casual walk to choose another song. But to her, his actions screamed something was up. His posture slightly curved, long purposeful strides, his gaze darting around. When she spotted his target, she knew she was right. Yes, the man appeared to be hiding something, but he seemed more nervous about being discovered than shooting anyone. A normal person wouldn't have noticed his strange behavior, but he trained her to be a bad ass so it screamed suspect. When he got back, she was going to have some choice words for him.
