Capítulo 114: Altered Memory

Cora was pacing, wringing her hands together in this damn room that the guards had so unkindly closed again when they left with her wolf days ago. It was times like these when she felt the smallest desire to trade her life-giving gift in for one of super alyko strength or something instead. At least then she could lift the door's metal jaws from where its teeth were sunken into the ground. 

With strength, she could be free. She could fight back. And she could smash that bastard Rayth's face in if he ever raised a hand to anyone again. What was a beating heart and the fragility of life when she could give Rayth a bloody nose instead?

"Maybe I should have remained a vampire," she growled to herself, the thought arriving again as it had over and over. Had she missed a vital opportunity here? Should she have learned to live as a walking corpse?
