As we approached the south gates, we found them wide open and empty. Reminding me of the college camp before. Had this been planned? Or had the guards simply fled their post? 

Passing through with ease, we noticed we weren't the first to flee in a vehicle and not the last. It seemed this town had once again been claimed by the dead.

Staring through the wing mirror I tried to search for the RV Alex had used to bring me here, unsure how to feel at being forcibly separated without a plan.

At least Master always had plans. And on top of that, plans in case those plans fell through. Alex was older than him by a large margin, why was he not as sensible?

"Fuck, that was intense," Holly let out a heavy sigh, her foot pressing hard on the gas now we were on the clear highway, passing a few cars that had left ahead of us.
