Rex's POV ...

"Are you sure that this is where we would find him?"

Anthony nodded under the darkness of the night, "yeah, this is where he should be patrolling tonight. I am the one who created the schedules."

We walked a little farther into the woods. Tonight wasn't a full moon so the light was very limited even with our heightened vision.

Anthony stopped and whistled into the night sky. He waited. Listening.

"What are you…"

"Shh," he cut me off.

After a few seconds, Mark and another warrior I didn't recognize came through the thick shrubbery in human form. They wore cargo pants and were barefoot.

"Beta," they bowed their heads in creating, "Rex."

"Mark, I only need you. Arthur, you can return to patrol," Anthony ordered. It was so strange seeing him be in full beta mode. It suited him, almost like he was born for the role.
