"It would be my honor!" William said as we walked side by side on the moonlit stone path. We walked silently until we came to a small garden with a fountain.
The night wind blew gently against my face, and the lilacs in the garden gave off a faint fragrance. Then, finally, I sat on a stone bench while William stood quietly beside me.
"Why don't you sit down?" I looked up to ask William, only to see his eyes looking at the pitch-black night sky before him. His golden eyes, like stars, were dim and even somewhat sad.
"I think it's better to stand next to you!" William sounded calm. "Before you give me a definite reply, I should keep my distance from you! But, as you once said, Ian is your mate, and this is a fact that cannot be changed!"
"I'm sorry. I can't give you an answer now!" I said with some annoyance, "Because even I don't know the answer!"
