Two days after Fiona had last seen him at the bar she’d gotten a text from Cade and it suddenly relieved some of her heartache. It read: “Sorry I’ve been MIA. I had some things to sort out and my brother surprised me by flying into town with some family matters. I’m free now though and I’d like to see you soon. Maybe tonight?”
Fiona hated that this stupid little text message was enough to make her forgive him. She smiled at her phone and typed back a reply. “It sounds like we need to have a do-over.”
Within seconds she got a response. “Agreed. Tonight? My place? I’ll send you the address,” the message read.
Fiona heard snickering from down the bar. Javier and Tamara were huddled together glancing at her and whispering at each other. “Guess all it took to cure two days of cranky moping was a little text, huh?” Javier said snootily.
Fiona rolled her eyes at her friends and typed back. “I’ve already been there, or don’t you remember?”
