No matter how hard Ben tried to understand what was going on with Alex, he couldn't seem to figure it out. The only thing he knew for sure was that Alex's current mood had something to do with Vanessa Scott.

From the day Alex received that phone call from Sophia and had rushed out of the conference meeting room three months ago, everything had changed.

He had also found out later that day that Vanessa had been rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, so he had been able to put the pieces together that Alex had run out of the meeting hall because Sophia informed him that Vanessa had been rushed to the hospital.

He had also figured out that Sophia was Vanessa's sister, as he had suspected based on the striking resemblance. And he had arrived at the conclusion that Genny had been right to think that Alex had a special relationship with Vanessa. Else, why was Sophia living in his house? Didn't that mean Vanessa was also probably living there too?
