Declan sat down on the bed, his eyes roving on Grace. His heart ached at the sight of how skinny she had become. He glanced up at Julia, who was standing right beside the bed.

"Why is she like this?" he asked, his ears ringing with Sean's words.

"Pancreatic cancer," replied Julia. "It was already in the fourth stage when it was diagnosed." The pain was visible in her tear-filled eyes. "Mom has not been able to look after herself while taking care of Papa." She choked in the end and couldn't say further.

"Julia… go get some snacks for them."

Julia nodded as she understood Grace asked her to give them privacy. She left the room.

Grace shifted her attention to Yasmin. "Why are you still standing there? Come and sit with me." She patted the place beside her.

Yasmin sat down, leaning the crutch on the bed.
