When Declan got to the villa, he saw Yasmin standing with a crutch by the gate and arguing with the guards. His glum expression darkened even more at this sight. He drove into the driveway and pulled over to the side.

Yasmin stopped yelling at the guards and turned to the familiar Mercedes. She shuffled a few steps back when she saw him getting out of the car with a menacing look. Her heart thumped timidly. She was terrified, but she gripped the crutch and stood firm. All her attempts to be bold and fearless were washed away when he suddenly lifted her in his arms and walked into the house.

She dropped the crutch and coiled her arms around his neck, dumbfoundedly staring at him. When she came to the realization that she was in his arms, she started twisting her body violently. "Put me down, you monster. Let me go."

"Shut up," he yelled.
