The man noticed her stare and smiled gently, like a kind middle-aged man. "As you can see, Mira had gotten into an accident." 

He looked at Mira, "Show them, honey."

The girl shook, extremely reluctant to part with her cover. What woman would want to show her ugliest side to both her 'rival' as well as a handsome man? 

Her eyes couldn't help but be a bit teary and she looked at Hugo. It was very pitiful, but he didn't even look at her.
