Alfheim wasn't very different from Shayla Kingdom in Iris's opinion. However, compared to the sunny and lively atmosphere in Shayla, Alfheim was nested in a valley with a long river flowing through it. Cold winds howl through the gray city with homes looking more pragmatic compared to human dwellings.
Also, compared to the fairies, elves looked more fancy when it comes to their garments and appearances. If it wasn't for their pointed ears and deep green eyes, Iris would have mistaken them parading as humans.
She could see why the King of Alfheim was eager to protect the land and wanting to end the centuries of war they had with the dark elves of Svartalheim and the monsters of the Labyrinth, but she couldn't also blame Lady Selene for wanting to avoid the war as she didn't want to see her kind continue to perish because of it.
I have to apologize. Recent chapters might be released unedited, but would be replaced with a revised one very soon. My editor got caught COVID19, but she and I will do our best to return to normal release rate of the updates. Hoping for your kind understanding!
