"Because we had a war and they would have been distracted then," Chang Wook said, making Oshita look at him like something was definitely amiss.

There was no way that the two most powerful mates could have been distractions to each other when they were meant to protect each other for their whole lives.

They had missions to deal with and things to attend to and the best way for them to do that would be at their full strength, which the both of them hadn't been in, no matter what they had done in the past few weeks and months.
