Heather was applying some cold compress, given to her by Amelia, on her reddened cheek while Cyrus was simply sitting beside her.

Amelia had prepared some coffee and snacks for them before going on with her other chores.

She and Ravier felt bad for Heather, the slap was hard enough that they who were in the kitchen actually heard of it.

Not just them but Cyrus who went around in order not to be seen by his mother's people, had just entered when the slap came.

Ravier noticed him clenching his hands into fists but didn't say a thing.

"How are you here? We were close to the main door," Heather started.

"There is a back door," he replied in a matter-of-fact tone.

"I had forgotten that there is also a back gate," she continued with a roll of her eyes.
