"And you think I will believe your petty lies, human?" The odd creature, but me up by the legs, and before I knew it, I was hit on the ground like a hammer on a plank.

"Please—" The pain was too much for me to bear.

I was yet to wake from my bones that were broken, and I'm already been treated this way.

"Where is the devil?" The creature growled again. This time, the tone of voice he made use of, was so sharp, that it caused shivers to rack through me.

"He's—" I gasp in pain before I took a deep, steady breath. "He's in the East."

"It seems you are hell-bent on protecting your lover, foolish prince. I know the exact thing that can make you talk." He snapped his fingers, "get the hostages."

With the creature's attention off me, I was able to take quick calming breaths. I placed both hands on the floor as I tried to regain my breathing.
