The shockwave from the impact shook the entire tunnel as massive slabs of earth fell to block the direction in which Cole had just come from. Of course he wasn't that far from the entrance so blasting through, if he uses this way back was not a problem.

The darklings around both Cole and the centipede were crushed to complete pulp. All that was left was a dark red almost black sludge, with how much of the centipede's body took up the tunnel, a heavily injured Cole could not see the range of the damage they had caused.

He took a step back, his bionic arm twisted wrongly to the side as cuts and bruises covered his entire body. His left hip was dislocated and his right foot was crushed. Healing was coming along, but it was not fast enough to save Cole from the pain. But he grunted in annoyance and looked at the centipede in defiance, it's eyes glaring at him.
