The lifeless demon body fell to the ground at Joshua's feet and erupted into dense black flames that had no warmth. "That takes care of the demon of the lower city." He said to himself as he went to wipe his blade clean from his fresh kill. However, there was no blood on the blade as the sword had absorbed it. "So, you eat demons too?" He asked his blade while looking at it.
He then put his sword back on his hip and just looked up at the sky. It was twilight, neither day nor night. He thought it odd the demon approached him this time of day, but also found it strange that the demon approached him at all.
He was still visibly wearing his knight's ring. The demon should have seen that and knew that he was not a poor starving boy who was down on his luck. Something didn't feel right, and Joshua put his hand back on his blade. He heard the sound of hand clapping behind him and drew his weapon as he turned to face it.
