Kaz was quiet for a moment, a moment too long and Neveah took that to mean he did not have a very good answer for her.

It dawned on Neveah that Kaz was calm, much too calm for a human who had just witnessed her slaughter over ten full grown men of his race.

He was completely unfazed, chatting to Neveah like there were no dead bodies lying around them.

Even for a human who could shoot a man right through the throat without blinking an eye, the level of Neveah's brutality should still have left an impact on him...but it didn't.

'He has always been suspicious.' Neveah's wolf agreed to Neveah's thoughts.

Rage churned deep within Neveah, seeking an outlet, any opportunity to be released and Neveah barely restrained herself as her claws began elongating again.

"If I say something you do not want to hear, are you going to kill me like you did them?" Kaz finally spoke, posing a rather uncomfortable question.
