I watch as Mariano speeds down the road. I haven't seen him this kind of mad before. The one that I had was involved with my safety and it's a different kind of mad than this. That was intense in a way that he seemed ready to slaughter everyone around him because I got hurt.
But this? This is mad mixed with years of pain. I feel the tense energy vibrating from him as he grips the steering wheel tight. His expression doesn't show much, and I can guess it's because of years of practice of keeping a poker face, but I know him enough now to know that this isn't his usual self, or at least he doesn't look like this when he's angry about other things.
From the little knowledge I know about his mother, I'm aware that Regina left when he was still very young—around the same time that his father started physically abusing him. Every time I think about his past, my blood boils. I cannot imagine how hard it must've been for him to have such parents.
The past couple of weeks has been so busy for me. I've written 2/5 of this chapter since Friday, but only finally finished it today. And it's five parts in total! Wow. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the mini mass release. Happy 200 chapters! Hellfire is nearing, but there are 2-3ish more arcs to go. If you haven't joined my exclusive list yet, sign up now!
