The sky is clear today and I see the sun peeking just behind a block of clouds. It's still cold in the first week of March. I'm done with winter—done with the icy weather. I can't wait for spring when Riri will enjoy the city better. There are some places I want to bring her that I think she'd love to see.

There was light snow at dawn for an hour and it left a glistening white sheen on the pavement this morning. Gravel crunches beneath my shoes as I walk toward my men's quarters in the southwest of my estate with Jax walking next to me. Our breath creates a mist in the cold.

I'm going to see my father this morning. I don't really want to see his face—I have nothing else to say to him. Truthfully, I'd rather forget he's down there. It's why I haven't visited him much. There's no point in seeing the man who refuses to give me something I want. It doesn't matter that he's stuck down there, he'd never tell me where my brother is.
