Mostly for domestic nobles- 

Or rather- the 'supposed' newly appointed rulers of the country.

We also invited influential merchants and even some ordinary people.

Right now, we didn't have the capacity to have banquets open to the general public but I planned for that to eventually happen. 

If I kept preaching equality and didn't deliver, I wasn't better than the assholes who just ruled like they pleased. 

Technically that's what I was doing but moving on!

I invited the nobles who were kept as prisoners or who were forced to play an act- 

Of course, I wasn't going to give them the country or let them even remotely rule this place but I wanted to give them a proper banquet before giving them the news that I was going to revoke all their noble status and they'd be normal citizens from now on.

Of course, I wasn't completely heartless- so I was going to let them keep their wealth, parts of it rather.
