Silence fell over the room following the suggestion. Then, multiple lights lit up at the same time as the Evolved voiced their opinions on the suggestion.

"Gus?"

"That powerless runt?"

"What's he going to do?"

"It's an odd suggestion, but is he really qualified for it?"

"That's got to be some kind of power grab, surely? We all knew she was friends with him, and now she nominates him for this position?"

Laughter erupted from both Zhang Liu and Benedetto Motizzi at the suggestion, both of them being completely unable to fathom the idea that the powerless child that they once knew was fit to be given such in imperative role in the war.

"Why would she suggest you?" Fernando said, turning around to face Gus as he spoke. "Something happen on that planet to warrant the decision? Or is this something else entirely?"
