*Graaaaahhhh?*
As the Bishaten behind him woke up from his sleep he went through all the knowledge of this creature in his mind, but as he thought about it more and more he became fascinated with this creature's most wonderful biological part. Its tail was a built-in plow!
The creature stood up and looked at him with slight caution, which quickly disappeared as Albert offered one of the fruits he found to the Bishaten. The Bishaten quickly became docile to Albert and sat beside him to enjoy their meal.
"Hey, so you can control your tail right?"-Albert
The Bishaten simply nodded to his question, whilst of course enjoying its fruit.
"Can you spread out the fingers on your tail and drag it along the ground next to the temple over there?"
The Bishaten stopped chewing for a little and then went to the field next to the Japanese-style temple and dragged its spread-out tail across the ground, making neat little rows of three. The tail dragging over the ground was like metal scraping stone.
Albert? He put his hands on the ground to see just what kind of crops he could grow here in the world of monster hunters only to discover that in this world existed every basic crop you could think of, carrots, bell peppers, spicy peppers, of course, there were a few exceptions like the fruit he found but apparently, that fruit was a mutation of a pumpkin that made it grow on trees and looking at it he could see a lot of traces of grapes and watermelon in the genetics of the fruit.
*Graaaahhh!*
The Bishaten roared to signal that he was done with his goal and Albert simply gave him more fruit as a reward. Albert now knowing what he could do trotted over to a tree and placed his hand on the wood, using his tangle trait to accelerate the speed of the growth of the tree in a certain way that a shovel-like branch now fell from the tree.
"Gotta get used to doing that"-Albert
With his newly made shovel in his hand, he planned to irrigate the water from the pond nearby to the plowed field so he could grow some of the fruit that he found before. It apparently grew from trees but there was a rare variation that Albert would call a pinberry which was about as small as fig and grew on bushes.
.
.
.
Soon enough the irrigation was done and night had come, but Albert had yet to grow these Pinberries because unlike other fruits and vegetables from his world they took a long time to grow, while other plants and flora would take minutes or even seconds with his tangle trait, the PinBerries took hours, something he recorded thoroughly on his journal.
Now he decided to grow two batches of Pinberries, one in the day and one at night. The difference? He could grow the first batch now and grow the second batch in the morning and see how they differ.
As he watched the accelerated growth of the Pinberry bush he discovered something interesting with this batch, he discovered some unique mutations of the plant changing how much light and water is needed to grow. Now the taste of the Pinberry was special, it was all yellow colored and instead of a citrus taste with a hint of apple, he tasted something akin to a pomegranate mixed with a watermelon.
Now that unnoticeable glow of that large fruit? the Pinberry glowed like a firefly. It also left his tongue dry like after you eat chocolate.
.
.
.
The morning had come and so did new information, the second batch had that unnoticeable glow and it also had a more rubbery skin, it come mostly in green varieties but it also produced a few purple pinberries. The leaves were a lot more green than that of the pale first batch and they were a lot thicker and spinier. The taste of the green pinberry was like an energy drink but at the same time, it tasted like a sickly sweet grapefruit. The purple pinberry... well it was terrifying, to say the least, it tasted like the rind of an orange and it felt draining just swallowing it.
Now to make some food... still need more ingredients. Albert used his tangle trait to grow some lemons and tomatoes which grew a lot faster, unlike the Pinberries.
Now at the field where he was, it was encompassed by a stone wall with a gate as well as a wooden bridge. Next to the field was the Temple which looked to be of Japanese descent, in front of that temple was a herd of Boars with giant tusks known as bullfango.
Could you guess what Albert was having for lunch? Not those Damn Things!
On the other hand, was the pond that he irrigated the water from, there were giant fish in that pond which he recognized as Gajau which had large fangs but were full of meat, these guys were the easiest to catch, just put a pinberry in the water, wait for a little and then check on the Gajau which will most likely be trying to chew through the Pinberry. And Voila! Dinner captured!
Having no other place to cook Albert took a large stone and made a fire around it, while waiting for the stone to heat up, he cut along the sides of the Gajau's body, taking off the strips of its meat. Now the good stuff was inside the fish, so he cut off the head, taking the spine and ribs along with it. He gathered up that meat and tossed it on a bed of leaves, adding a few slices of lemon, tomato, and Yellow Pinberry on top. Wrapping up the delicious treat with the leaves he placed it on the rock and... waited.
I mean what can you do?
Hearing the sizzling and popping the Bishaten grew nearer. But so did other monsters.
.
.
.
Thirty minutes later Albert sat on a large rock while he ate his Gajau. The Bishaten biting on a cooked Gajau like it was meat on a skewer, The Arzuros ate their way through a stone-baked Bullfango and a Great Izumi sat with its fellow Izumis chomping through a large dish of Cooked Kelbi which was sort of green deer whose horns held some sort of medicinal value but made a good seasoning.
