Capítulo 35: Chapter 35: Strokes from the Past

Artemis’ POV

The sound of music booms through the walls, matching the lights that pulsate through the rooms and between the dancing bodies. It brings back memories of the night months ago when I snuck through this same crowd when I had tried to assassinate Beck, which seemed like ages ago.

Now, many things have changed, and though I don't know if I carry the same longings. I can see that it is a different version of me who moves through the pack tonight, rather than the one that came thinking of killing of the man who was presumably my parents' murderer.

“Are you ready?” Beck asks me as he stops next to me.

I look up, nodding. He places a hand on my back and gently guides me across the room and into a secluded area where a small group of people are having a relaxed conversation.

“Hey, Peter, happy birthday,” he says as he turns to one of the men, who immediately stands up and comes to meet him.
