Capítulo 13: Chapter 13: I’m Doing this For You

Alicia’s POV

When I wake up in the morning, Adrian is nowhere to be seen.

After making out for what felt like hours, eventually, Adrian fell asleep with his head on my chest and his arms wrapped tightly around my waist. I would be lying if I said I didn’t lie awake for a while after that, reveling in the pressure of his head against me and how it made my heart flutter.

I didn’t want the moment to end when I closed my eyes, but I knew I couldn’t lie awake all night. Part of me knew that everything would go back to how it’s been in the morning, but I couldn’t help but hope that maybe things would be different.

I reflect ruefully on how drunk he was the night before—he might not remember anything that happened between us.

The thought makes my heart sink a little, but I can’t hold that against him. I still have hope that the longer I’m here with Adrian, fighting to bring his walls down, the sooner we can be together without animosity or tension between us.
