Capítulo 100: The Hunter - Part 3

*Scree* *Scree*

The odd-looking creatures made some horrible noises towards Felixia as it looked back at its opponents. They really were quite hideous.

Horrible massive teeth were easily visible as Felixia circled the two Efflers that were trying to intimidate it. They probably wouldn't be doing that for long, so Felixia took the short time that it had to figure out how to take these down.

Given the teeth, Felixia did not want one of them landing a bite. It was going to hurt and mess up it's fur. No, it needed to keep them away, all the while landing its own hits to take them down.

Felixia was quickly pulled away from its thoughts as one of the Efflers jumped forward, its mouth wide open hoping to take a huge chunk out of its fur. But, Felixia was a smart and swift one, being able to spot the creature as it moved, Felixia was able to quickly move to the side. This caused the Effler to hit the ground and roll a short distance away.

Felixia had turned its back to the other Effler in order to make sure the first did not get back up and go for another attack, but this proved to be a mistake.

Felixia heard more of that horrible screeching noise from the other Effler and turned just in time to see it heading right at itself. Felixia had hardly any time to dash to the side, of which ended up being too late, as the Effler lunged forward and took a bite.

Felixia hissed in anger and pain as the Effler had managed to dig a couple of its teeth into its skin as it dodged. There was no blood yet, but it was not a very nice feeling and its side where the punctured was constantly throbbing in pain.

The Efflers were now on the same side as each other, and Felixia realised it had to take these out quickly. Dealing with two is definitely not as simple as when it took out the Effler on its own. Something it would need to remember as it hunted more.

What it was thankful for, was that the rest of it's pack was taking out the other Efflers around it, stopping anymore for joining the frey. Felixia would have to reward them for their help.

Maybe allowing them to stroke its head a lot more than usual would be enough.

But enough about rewarding its pack, there were still two beasts to deal with.

The one that had jumped and landed, must have done so at an odd angle, as it started to limp a little. The other one that had managed to get a hit looked absolutely fine and was ready for another round.

This time they switched it up. The one that landed a hit dashed forward, likely hoping to get a clean bite into Felixia's fur this time. But, Felixia was ready for it, staying completely still as it watched the creature shriek and head closer.

As it got near, it jumped forward gnashing its teeth as it did, but in midair, it found that its own prey had disappeared.

Felixia was no fool, and managed to move to the side quickly, just out of sight of the Effler. The next thing the Effler knew, it was heading in an entirely different direction all the while feeling a massive amount of pain in its side.

Felixia had lashed its tail out towards the air born Effler sending it flying and landing in a bush. It would have been better if it was a tree, but aiming was something it would need to practice. The damage that was done by its tail should have hurt it quite a lot, but these things were persistent, so Felixia imagined that it would be back.

The limping Effler was still in Felixia's view, not wanting to make the same mistake as last time, and it was hobbling as it tried to speed forward at what it thought would be dinner. To Felixia it looked so weak now and it felt a little sad at killing it now. Oh it wasn't because of its injury, more that it wasn't a challenge any more.

But, that is where Felixia was wrong, as there was a concept that many people knew about animals. One that Felixia would soon be learning. 'An animal is at its most dangerous when wounded.'

And that is exactly what Felixia found out when the Effler got close.

Expecting the thing to try and lunge forward like it and the other did, with its limp it was unable to. This meant it had to get up close and personal to do any damage. So, it sped along the ground as fast as it could, and started to gnash its teeth in Felixia's direction.

Felixia kept moving, keeping out of its way, keeping those teeth away from its fur. So far, its dodging had allowed Felixia to run circles around the beast, but its energy was slowly falling. It needed to try and kill it quickly.

That's not to say that the Effler wasn't also feeling exhausted as well, because with how it was starting to slow down, it was clear to see that it was.

Felixia decided to go for the tried and true method that it had used before, hoping to knock it down quickly. So it flicked its tail out towards the Effler going for a quick hit, when all of a sudden…its tail stopped moving…and started to hurt.

Looking over, the beast had been gnashing its teeth constantly, and when it had seen Felixia's tail coming towards it, it realised that might be just the thing it needed to grab to keep hold of it. Without opposable thumbs, its teeth were the next best thing.

The teeth dug deep into Felixia's tail causing it to yelp in pain. And this is when Felixia panicked.

The pain was new, and Felixia didn't know how to deal with it. All Felixia wanted was for it to stop. And all it could figure out in the pain-induced delirium was that the Effler on its tail was the cause. So, without much thought, Felixia turned to face it and dashed straight for it.

Felixia knocked the Effler to the floor, causing it to let go of the tail, but the pain was still there. Felixia then proceeded to tear the stuffing out of the bunny-like creature, ripping it to shreds as blood spurted from the punctures it made.

As Felixia did this, the Effler continued to struggle, biting every chance it got. It managed to tear at Felixia's fur, biting huge chunks off. In some cases, it managed to break the skin, causing blood to rise to the surface.

But, before long the Effler had stopped struggling and had finally died. It took a while for Felixia to realise that was the case, and just when it was starting to come down from the high, Felixia felt more pain on its side.

The Effler that it had flung before was back, and had managed to get a grip on Felixia's side. More cries of pain escaped its mouth as the Effler kept a tight bite on its fur. It hurt, but not as much as when its tail was being bitten. This thankfully meant that, Felixia was no longer acting on pure impulse from the pain, but had a clear mind as it tried to figure out what to do.

It needed to get the Effler off, that was a given, but Felixia could tell that no matter what it did, there would be a lot of pain as the creature was torn away from Felixia's fur. But with no other option, it knew what had to be done.

Unable to reach with its paw, and given that its tail was out of commission for the moment, Felixia decided to go for a body slam. Well, more like a sideways pounce meaning that it landed on its side, which caused the Effler to be crushed under its weight.

It wasn't enough to kill it, but the action saw it loose its grip, leaving with some tufts of fur and blood around its teeth.

But now that it was off, and in a daze from the hit, Felixia quickly finished it off with a swipe followed by a couple of quick ones, knocking its brain around even more and then tearing off some of its fur in vengeance.

This was enough to land the final blow, causing the Effler to flop to the side.

An action that Felixia mirrored as it found all of its energy depleted from the fight.

Felixia had quite the battle. Starting with a simple hunting, then lead to a two verse one fight, of which Felixia came out on top. A little worse for wear, but it was sure it would be up and about soon. It hurt a lot, and it wasn't too sure how its tail was, but it knew nothing had been torn off. Things would feel better soon.

Felixia was also sure that its pack would help take care of it. They seemed to do that for each other, so surely it must apply to Felixia as well.

And so, Felixia remained where it was trying to catch its breath from the intense fight as it heard three sets of footsteps heading towards it.

Its pack was here.
