Alex was baffled to say the least, the man he had met in his home the night before had just murdered three people with a gun and was now offering to pay for his medical treatment while keeping it all a secret from his mother.
"James... Why are you...?"
"I'll explain on the way to the hospital, if we don't heal your hand soon then the lower ranked healers in this city won't be able to fix the tendons properly. I would be willing to help you get to a higher ranked healer when I take you to the academy but it would mean spending a few months without a functioning hand first, I'm sure you don't want that." James interrupted before Alex could continue his sentence.
He then gestured behind him and not wanting to argue, Alex started walking in that direction. He didn't have much of a reason to trust James but his energy was completely used up and he was injured. He felt like he didn't really have a choice right now.
