Capítulo 73: Dulcet and Duplicitous - Part 1

Cele didn’t end up in Heiko’s tent that night, though, nor did he stay in his own. Instead, he sat with his back against the tree close to the prince’s tent, watching for Cuilin. After tirelessly tracking the chief's whereabouts throughout the day - the subtle touches and caresses, the cast glances, the murmured Burkean words - it felt as though there was absolutely no way he would leave Heiko to his own devices on his own accord.

Still, even after hours passed - as the dark sky began to deepen so much that Cele thought it impossible to get even darker - he never appeared, making the general wonder what Heiko had said to convince him to keep to himself, what additional promises were sworn with false words. Or... false words, he hoped.

The moon was at the highest point in the sky when Prince Heiko appeared in the entrance of his tent, dressed and ready for his escape. He stole a glance around the surrounding area before catching sight of Cele.
