Capítulo 35: Shadow Death Knight
Silence descended into the atmosphere as no one can defy Cedrick at the moment. All of them can't believe that they were shivering when they were believers of the Goddess of Light, Rebecca.
Noticing they were easily affected of Dragon Fear, Cedrick then continued as he didn't dwell on it anymore but he didn't deactivate the skill.
"Give me a reason why should I help you as I know, humans weren't always the right."
Cedrick didn't want to kill the Abyssal Lion for no reason as he remembered the human's greed in his previous life were responsible for the destruction of earth. The moment Cedrick became a dragon in this world, he decided not to always side the humanities as he knows their dark side.
He wanted to know if the Abyssal Lion were just a target for them or the one who caused them trouble. His apostles on the other hand were so amazed at his aura as they had tried using Dragon Fear earlier but it has little effects to the goblins and monsters. He ignored the others as he waited for Rin to respond.
"We just wanted to take a shortcut to go to the Lubana from Vatican as we we're already late in schedule but we've met the Abyssal Lion on the way and attacked us."
[The target said the truth.]
Even she is shaking, she bravely and truthfully answered him. Cedrick had a thought why they were going to Lubana Kingdom. He thought that they had received some news that the Yatan Church were active there.
He felt pity on them as how the communication were so slow in this world without a phone but he didn't tell them that they were already being taken cared off. Its not his responsibility to help them as he didn't want to get involved with them.
He turned his attention to the shaking Abyssal Lion who met his gaze. Cedrick approached making it even more shake in fear.
"Now then, what should I do to you?"

(Simba's POV)
I have caught sight of preys who look likes humans. They seem strong but I know I am stronger. I can sense that the others were no big deal except for the female one. She smelled danger.
But as I am a Lion, there's no way I would fear her. I can make her companions drag her down to lessen the trouble. I pounced at them when they neared my position and attacked a weak looking human.
Ahhh!
"Ambushed! We were being ambushed."
The human shouted and fear and alerted the others but I didn't care. I have no reason to fear them. Suddenly someone attacked me holding a sword and a shield. My attacks got occasionally block but I have landed lethat attacks with my claws and fangs.
Suddenly my eyes widened as the wounds immediately healed. (Poor Simba, he didn't know they have healing skills. 🥲) I still didn't stop harassing them but I am starting to get irritated as they keep healing. I started attacking the ones in the back but the female one tries to block.
I deflected her attacks and focused on the others. I grinned as they were being pushed back. My tactics worked. As I was about to start being aggressive, a voice was then heard.
"You guys look like you were in trouble."
My eyes widened as I look towards the direction. There are four people but that's not what I was surprised.
'I didn't noticed at all.'
I am a predator and I am sensitive to the surroundings yet I didn't noticed a single thing about them. I found it strange as I didn't detect a slight of smell, sound and I didn't sensed them at all. As I was in deep thought, his aura immediately leaked.
My body immediately tremble in fear. I tried to fight back but I can't. It took me a while to recognize the aura.
'Dragon?'
I can't forget this aura. Long time ago I stumbled into a dragon lair for searching for preys and I suddenly encountered a giant dragon in slumber. As it sensed me it woke up.
"Look what we have here, interesting. An Abyssal Lion has come for me."
I was in awe at the same time, I was shaking as its aura were making me tremble. I prided myself for being the best as not a single prey could escape and defeat me but now I know how small I am in comparison with the dragons.
"But unfortunately, you still haven't reached the full potential of the Abyssal Lion."
I disappeared in his lair as soon as he said that disappointed. Noticing that I am currently standing on a similar presence, I already knew what I have to do.
I'll make sure to make me his subordinate.
(Main POV)
Cedrick expected the Lion to beg in mercy and run away but something unexpected happened.
"Noble Dragon. Forgive me for my insolence in your presence."
"Dragon?"
Rin and the paladins and priest widened their eyes hearing Simba but Cedrick didn't care. He was intrigued why this one isn't begging for mercy. It didn't also show sign of escaping and any resistance. It has a genuine look in his eyes waiting for response for Cedrick. Simba then continued.
"I apologize for attacking your subjects as I thought they were my preys. Please punish me for my insolence."
Cedrick's eyes narrowed hearing his remarks. 'This one is quite clever.' Cedrick thought as he can see what Simba is doing. Cedrick immediately get to the point.
"As I can see you want me to take you as my subordinate. Am I right?"
Simba immediately replied as he was not surprised a dragon has read him like a book. For him, it would be strange if the dragon didn't know his intention.
"Yes, I want to serve you as my Master."
Hearing him, Cedrick didn't have any reason to refuse as it was an epic rank named boss. Cedrick suddenly have an idea on how he would be doing it.
"If you want to serve me, you'll have to die for me. Do you understand."
Cedrick said expressionless as he did not bother to explain why. Simba was confused why he has to die to serve him but didn't argue. Dragons were known for their pride and didn't lie to anyone as they feel disgust towards it as a being who can see through the truth.
"I understand. I'll offer my life and soul to serve you as my master."
Rin and the others were surprised as they didn't followed what is happening. His apostles on the other hand was excited to see what was going to happen especially Ruzzel who can sense that it would be relating to him.
They all looked at Cedrick but he didn't care. He looked at the notifications that appeared in front of him.

A new Shadow Soldier appeared and looked at Cedrick calmly without speaking. Perhaps he hadn't yet regained his awareness. He looked into the Shadow Soldier's eyes and said, "Serve under me Abyssal Lion."

"Simba." It was his real name so Cedrick naturally didn't changed it.

Rin and the others were shocked of what just happen. They had witnessed something that didn't appeared before. They shivered at the Abyssal Lion who were giving them a hard time ealier who now look threating and much stronger than before.
All of them gulped as they looked at Cedrick, they were full of uncertainty as they had heard he is a dragon. None of them were daring to speak especially the one who shouted at Cedrick earlier.
'Qualification? Stupid, I am the one who is not qualified to speak to him.' That was his current thought as he shivered even more. Suddenly he was snapped out of his daze as Simba suddenly spoke.
(I Simba, greet my liege. My mighty Master.)
Cedrick smiled seing him and he immediately inspected the difference.

He didn't bother inspecting the details of the skill as he was lazy reading it as he can do it in another time. Suddenly, he then remembered that he had forgotten something. Without wasting a time, he took out Clark's corpse in his inventory. Looking at the corpse of epic boss who gave him a hard time before, he proceeded with the same process.

Cedrick grinned seing what he had gained on this endeavor. Ruzzel on the other hand was dumbstruck as Cedrick had shown him what is the use of his ability. Excitement and anticipation was filled in his head as he now understood the true value of his ability.
