Capítulo 494: Catch you
Benjamin sighed...this was what he had been afraid of, that he would make it and Lulu would refuse to cooperate with him. He didn't want her to worry, but if he was being truthful, it was either she trusted him and jumped or ended up falling with the elevator, and he was not prepared to let the latter happen.
Benjamin inhaled slowly and exhaled he was thinking of what he could say to convince Lulu to jump.
"I should have known that you were insane, you barely made it and you expect me to jump mindlessly like an idiot? No way!!" said Lulu, she had already made up her mind, she was not going to mindlessly listen to him and risk her life.
She knew that she should not have allowed him convince her to help him, he was crazy, she was so wrong about him, she initially thought that he was a peaceful, gentle man, but he was crazy.
"Look Miss. White, I do not want to raise any false alarms, but you cannot take your chances, it's best that you listen to me and jump, I promise that I will catch you." he said as Lulu shook her head violently.
"I don't trust you and I don't believe you, what if I fall??" she cried as Benjamin shook his head.
"You won't fall, I won't allow you to fall." he responded as Lulu scoffed.
"That's rich coming from you, of course all you want to do is butter me up just so I will do what you want, well it's not going to happen, I'm not going anywhere, I am going to stay put until help arrives." declared Lulu as Benjamin sighed, that was if the elevator had not already crashed by the time help arrived.
"Miss White, I'm being serious here, please you have to jump." said Benjamin as his tone was softer, and sounded more pleading, he really wanted Lulu to get off that death trap as soon as possible.
"No way, no way I'm jumping, if you want to get me down from here, you need to come and do it yourself, I'm not moving an inch." said Lulu in an moving tone as Benjamin was really worried that telling her that the elevator cable could snap at any time would make her panic even more.
"Look Miss White, I—" said Benjamin as before he could even think of what else to say the sound of a loud creaking started again causing both he and Lulu to go silent.
Lulu immediately turned her head in the attention of where the creaking sound was coming from and she instantly regretted it as her eyes locked with the now very visible snapping cable of the elevator.
Lulu screamed as she instantly back away from the snapping cable, her mind instantly rushing with one thought "She was going to die."
"Miss White, are you alright?" asked Benjamin as he did not need to ask what was wrong, he was sure that she had seen the source of the problem.
Lulu didn't answer him, she just felt like she had to get away from that cable, she moved further away from it as she felt herself at the edge of the elevator and she turned around only to look down causing fear to grip her entire being.
She instantly felt everything spinning as she looked down at the long bottomless abyss beneath her as everything suddenly became a blur, she couldn't move, she couldn't speak, she couldn't hear anything, she was completely paralyzed in fear.
"Miss White, listen to me, you have to jump now!" said Benjamin in a tone or urgency, the creaking sound was getting louder, he was sure that the cable was unable to hold anymore and was snapping completely, if Lulu didn't jump now, she might not make it.
"Miss White!!" he called loudly but Lulu was too filled with fear to hear him, she just whimpered and shivered as she felt a wave of panic rush over her, temporarily shutting down her sensory senses.
She involuntarily closed as her eyes as she was sure that if not for the fear washing all over her, she would have unbalanced herself and fell.
"Miss White!!" called Benjamin again this time with even more urgency, something was telling him that they didn't have enough time left, but Lulu wasn't responding to him right now, and he was scared beyond anything else.
Benjamin didn't know what to do, he should have never left her up there on her own, if he didn't find a way to snap her out of her daze soon, then only the worst could happen.
Benjamin looked around, there was still no one here, there was no help in sight, he had to think fast now or expect the tragedy that would befall them.
"Lulu!! Louise jump!!" shouted Benjamin at the top of his lungs. He didn't even think he did not know why he called her name, but he just did, and to his surprise that was enough to snap Lulu out of her daze as she had no time to think she just closed her eyes and jumped.
She didn't know what would happen, she wasn't even sure if she would make it, but hearing Benjamin's voice, she just felt the urge to listen to him with no doubts at all.
Benjamin quickly stretched out his hand as he caught Lulu and threw himself back with a great force pushing them both back as she landed on him as he hit the floor.
Five seconds had not passed when the loud sound of the cable completely snapping away sounded and the elevator went down crashing with a great speed, smashing into the ground floor with a loud clamour that scared everyone that heard it.
"Louise, are you okay?" asked Benjamin as he looked down at Lulu whom he was still holding onto as he stood up.
She didn't respond to him, she just burst into tears as Benjamin was unmoving, he didn't know what to do, he had never, ever heard her cry before, he just stood there, holding her as she cried.
"Lulu!!!" called Dom as he panted, he finally made it to the eighteenth floor, fearing the worst when he heard the sound of the crashed elevator, he was instantly relieved when he saw both Lulu and Benjamin and they seemed to be okay.
"Dom." called Lulu like a crying baby, she let go of Benjamin as she walked to her worried brother and she hugged him tightly.
"Oh Lulu, are you okay?" he asked in worry, his own heart only starting to calm down now that he had her in his arms.
Lulu shook her head as she cried. She didn't care how she looked right now, she couldn't care less, she had almost died, if she had wasted another second on that elevator, she would have been dead, she was so scared, so scared right now.
"Oh Lulu." called Dom as he hugged her tightly and rubbed her back, grateful to God that she was okay. She looked unscathed, apart from the fact that she was a crying mess right now, but if she wasn't crying he would have been worried.
"It's okay, it's alright, everything is fine now." he said as he sighed and tried to calm her down. He was trying to calm both her and himself down, he could not imagine the thought of losing his baby sister, his only sister, his mind had been in a total disarray.
"Everything is fine." he said as he kept on repeating those words, he kissed her on the forehead and hugged her tightly as he looked at Benjamin and mouthed the words thank you as all Benjamin could do was nod his head in response.
"Do you feel better now?" asked Dom after a few minutes and it seemed like Lulu's sobs had died down.
She nodded as she was still in shock, she couldn't speak, only cry. Dom reluctantly let go of her as she sniffed and rubbed her nose.
"Are you alright Benjamin?" asked Dom as Benjamin nodded.
"I am sir." he replied.
"Thank you... if you hadn't been there with Lulu and found some way to get out of the elevator, the worst could have happened." said Dom as Benjamin didn't respond.
Dom couldn't excuse the fact that the idiotic technician was still nowhere to be found. The mere thought made his blood boil, but he wanted to make sure that Lulu was alright, he would deal with that matter later.
"I want to go home." said Lulu in a small, still, shaky voice as both Dom and Benjamin turned to look at her.
"I'm so sorry Lulu, I wish I could take you home right now, but I can't." said Dom apologetically as Lulu rubbed her eyes that had become red and puffy from all her crying.
"I can take her home." said Benjamin as both siblings turned to look at him.
