Capítulo 16: Understandable

"Madam are you alright?" asked Alfred as he saw that Natasha did not look like herself.

"I am good Alfred, thank you" said Natasha as she snapped out of her thoughts, she was wasting time by thinking here.

"Thank you for telling me that he is back" said Natasha as she smiled.

"You are welcome Madam; I am just doing my Job" said Alfred.

"And you are very good at it" she said as she smiled and Alfred smiled at her.

"Well now if you would excuse me, I would like to go see Joy" said Natasha.

"Of course Madam go ahead" said Alfred as he moved away from the entrance as Natasha stood up.

...

"Joy, my baby" said Natasha as she walked into Joy's room.

"Yes Mommy" said Joy as she looked up at her mother who just entered her room, Joy had just finished watching tv downstairs and she came upstairs to changer her shirt because she spilt some juice on her other shirt.

"My baby, what happened to your shirt?" asked Natasha as she saw that Joy's shirt was wet.

"I spilled some Juice on it mommy" said Joy

"Oh my baby" said Natasha as she walked closer.

"Do you need help choosing another shirt?" asked Natasha and Joy nodded.

"Okay my baby" said Natasha as she carried Joy and they both went to her closet.

"Which one do you want?" asked Natasha as she opened Joy's closet.

"I want that one" said Joy as she pointed to a particular pink shirt.

"Are you sure my baby?" asked Natasha.

"Yes Mommy" said Joy as she nodded her head.

"Okay then" said Natasha as she put Joy down.

"So go remove your shirt in the bathroom, and I will give you your new shirt okay" said Natasha.

"Yes Mommy" said Joy as she nodded her head and she walked to her bathroom.

A few minutes later Joy had changed into another shirt.

"Is that better my baby?" asked Natasha.

"Yes Mommy, way better" said Joy as she smiled.

"Good, well my baby, I have to tell you something" said Natasha as she carried Joy up.

"What is it mommy?" asked Joy.

"Well my baby, I am feeling very tired, so I will not be able to join you for dinner today" said Natasha.

"Aww okay Mommy" said Joy.

"But will you not be hungry?" asked Joy.

"No my baby, I had a big lunch" said Natasha.

"And I also had a very fun time with you today, so I am not hungry at all" said Natasha as she laughed and pinched Joy's nose which caused Joy to giggle.

"Okay Mommy, I hope you rest well" said Joy as she smiled.

"Aww Thank you my baby, I know I will with you being so cute" said Natasha as she smiled.

"Hahah mommy" said Joy as she laughed.

"Goodnight my sweetie, I will see you later" said Natasha as she kissed Joy on her cheek.

"Goodnight mommy" said Joy as she smiled, and Natasha smiled too.

After Joy had said goodnight to her mother, she was on her way downstairs to go eat lunch, when she saw the person that she loved very much, it made her quicken her pace and she almost fell down the stairs.

"Daddy!!" said Joy

"Daddy, Daddy!!" she called as she rushed down the stairs in a hurry.

"Woah, Slow down my princess, you don't want to fall now do you?" he asked as he smiled at Joy.

"Daddy, Daddy!!" Said Joy as she finally came down the stairs.

"Hello my princess" said Joy's dad as he bent down and picked her up with a smile on her face.

"You came back early!" said Joy as she exclaimed.

"Of course I did my princess, I always keep my promises always" he said as he hugged Joy tightly.

"Yes daddy, yes" said Joy as she smiled, she was beyond happy, she was joyful, but a part of her felt sad because now she had her daddy, but she did not have her mommy.

Now that she thought about it, her daddy and mommy were never together with her, they always usually spent time with her separately, she only started to realize that lately.

"Daddy let's have dinner together" said Joy.

Once he heard the word together, Joy's dad's mind could not help but wonder if Joy meant them having dinner together with Natasha, because if that was the case he was sure that he would not be able to handle something like that, especially if Natasha created a scene in front of Joy.

But as he looked down in Joy's clear expectant eyes, he had no other choice than to agree, he only wanted his daughter to be happy always, even if that meant that he had to deal with some troublesome people in order to do so.

"Of course my princess" he said as he smiled.

"But first let me go change" he said as he was still wearing his suit.

"Okay daddy" said Joy, and her father put her down as he walked upstairs.

"I will be right back" he said to her.

"Okay Daddy" said Joy as she stood still in her place.

"I am back my princess" he said as she walked down the stairs, he had changed into a casual shirt and jeans.

"Hi daddy" said Joy as she smiled.

"Let's go eat dinner" he said as he carried her up.

"Yes daddy" said Joy as she laughed.

Joy was being carried into the dining room like a princess, her dad pulled out her seat for her right next to his, and he placed her on her seat and pushed her in.

"Thank you daddy" she said as she smiled.

"You are welcome my princess" he said as he smiled.

"My princess will your mom be joining us?" said Joy's dad as he just had to ask, he had to be prepared for anything at this point.

"No daddy" said Joy as she shook her head.

"She told me that she was tired, and she wanted to rest, so she said she will not join us for dinner" said Joy as she looked sad.

"Oh I see" he said as he looked a bit relieved.

"I wanted her to join us daddy, so we could have dinner together as a family" said Joy as she looked sad.

"Oh my princess, I am sure that we will soon" he said as he lied, he did not want Joy sad like this.

"You promise daddy??" asked Joy as he eyes lit up.

"I promise my princess" he said as he smiled, and it made Joy happy, as her father said that he always kept his promises that meant that they were all going to spend time together soon.

"Now eat my princess, before your food gets cold" he said.

"Yes daddy" said Joy as she happily ate.

Natasha closed her door behind her, she could hear Joy's squeals of Joy all the way in the west wing, she was happy that her daughter was happy, even though it hurt her.

It was understandable for a girl of Joy's age to want to be with her father, it was just how nature worked in this world, and she was not going to poison Joy's heart against her father, because what good would that do? It would only bring more heartache and suffering.

Joy deserved to be with both her parents just like anyone else, besides Natasha was sure that whatever hatred she and her husband had for each other, they would gladly put it aside for the sake of Joy their cute, beloved daughter.

Because if parents don't strive to make their children happy, then are they parents at all? That was Natasha's philosophy.
