Capítulo 28: Lou Reiki, A Talent Finding Monster - Part 2: A Beast King

"Hm, well I guess it can't be helped then," Leo said.

"I'll accept the minimum pay and spatial ring for now. I'll be back on the day of the auction, so remember to send me a letter.", Leo said as if he was the boss.

Well, he wasn't being rude. It was just that he was in a hurry and didn't want to get cheated or something.

Lou Reiki smiled.

"Alright, young man. It's a pleasure to be doing business with you. Please have a seat while I retrieve the money and ring.", after saying this, Reiki went to another room.

He had the required amount with him, but for a new spatial ring, he had to get it from the next room.

Leo nodded and took a seat on one of the beautifully decorated expensive chairs while Lou Reiki headed to another room.

"Uncle, how much do you think these chairs would cost?", Leo asked Darion.

He felt a bit comfortable when he sat on the chair and hence wanted to buy it sometime later. Weirdly enough, it was not because he was arrogant by gaining a lot of money. It was because he wanted to make the lives of the kids back at the orphanage better.

"Hm, by the looks of it, it seems like these chairs could cost up to a few hundred silver coins." Darion replied as he tapped on his chin.

The two ladies who were by the sidelines this whole time almost vomited blood when they heard Darion's statement. These chairs were almost 100 years old, made with the finest wood on the continent. Not to mention, it was carved by the most outstanding craftsman on the continent. A few hundreds of silver were just the crumbs of the actual amount.

Leo nodded slowly. As mentioned, the chair he was sitting on was extremely comfortable, more than any furniture in the orphanage. It looked like he needed to work a lot harder in order to afford comfortable chairs like these for his brothers and sisters at the orphanage.

"Sorry about the wait. Here you go." Lou Reiki emerged from the back with a small brown pouch. He placed the pouch on Leo's palm.

Immediately, Leo opened the pouch to inspect the content.

"Haha, don't worry young man, I won't be cheating you. The content is right.", Reiki laughed.

"Haha, it may be, but we have yet to establish trust. So, I'm just being cautious.", Leo replied calmly while checking the pouch.

A pouch was not needed for three coins, nevertheless, Reiki decided to give it.

'How disrespectful can the brat be!?', both the women there cursed at Leo in their minds.

After making sure there were 1 gold coin, 2 silver coins, and a spatial ring, he thanked Lou Reiki before heading out of the place with Darion.

As soon as they exited, both the women approached Lou Reiki hastely.

"Master, why were you so generous to that boy? I couldn't see any benefit from being so nice to him."

"I mean, master, he was just a poor brat who was extremely disrespectful…", one of the women asked.

"That's right, Master. Even when a Beast Commander (Lv.31 to Lv.40) stopped by earlier, you did not give him any payment in advance." the other lady adds.

Yes, a Beast Commander had visited the auction house to sell a beast corpse just like Leo, but an hour prior. However, Reiki did not give him any face. He outrightly rejected when the matter came to payment.

He only promised to pay after someone had bought the corpse, not prior to the selling of it!

Lou Reiki chuckled.

"Indeed. He is someone different. I saw the future, a particularly bright one.", Reiki said.

Both ladies were confused. What bright future can be seen in that boy? He dressed like a mere beggar, and if not for the man beside him, they would have mistaken the boy for an orphan, he really was one though.

With Darion's presence, they thought that he was his father or something. However, when they heard him call him uncle, they realized that they were wrong.

Regardless, they even judged his character.

"Judging by the boy's manners, I don't think he had any proper upbringing either.", said both of them simultaneously.

"It's been a while since my eyes and nose twitched. I'm curious to see how the boy's growth in the future.", Reiki commented.

Both ladies were shocked to hear the statement. The last time Lou Reiki said something similar, a person became one of the most fearful Beast Kings on the whole continent.

Reiki was about 60 years old right now, and the women beside him seemed in their 40s. They had started working beside him when they were in their 20s, of course, at that time, Reiki was 40.

A comment that was made by him, ended up becoming true as one of the younger generation, broke through to the rank of the Beast King not too long ago, and took only 19 years to do so.

"Do you see him rising into the rank of a Beast King, Master?", the ladies asked a ridiculous question.

The Beast King in their conversation was none other than Darion. He was present here a few minutes ago, but none of them recognized him. Yes, none, except Lou Reiki.

However, he kept quiet despite knowing that it was Darion. And this was one of the reasons why Darion kept quiet in the room when Reiki was present.

"Higher and much better. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he returns as a Supreme Overlord one day.", Reiki chuckled.

Both ladies looked at each other nervously. A Supreme Overlord? A normal person wouldn't be able to reach such a high level that easily. In fact, it was one in a million chance to cultivate and ascend to that rank!

"Make sure the next auction goes by smoothly. I'd like to have a long chat with the boy.", these were Reiki's final orders.

"Understood, Master.", both of them bowed their heads with sincerity.
