There were some knights guarding the auction hall's entrance. No one was allowed to enter just like that, at least, not on normal days.
There were specific times for the auction hall to be opened when it would display invaluable items which everyone would go crazy over.
Considering the fact that this auction was the hall in a poor village, the number of rare items in the Hall was quite less. However, most cultivators go towards the forests nearby to hunt beasts, and hence, they would come to the hall and either trade or sell many items.
Precisely because of that, the auction hall was set here.
In any case, the knights didn't exactly stop Darion and Leo. Instead, they asked, "Excuse me, sirs, may I know what business you have here?"
"We want to sell an Lv.10 Beast's body.", Darion replied almost immediately in a deep tone.
He was not playing around nor did he try to hide it.
"Ah, if you want to sell, then please enter via that gate."
"This gate is for those that want to buy something from the house.", the knights said.
They too had similar armor as those who had stopped Leo and Darion earlier, at the entrance of the village.
There indeed was another entrance towards the left. This entrance actually led to another building that was connected to the Auction hall.
It was a bit smaller when compared to the auction hall but still, when compared to every other stall or shop nearby, it was quite large,
This one was made from brown bricks with red tints and not from mud or wood. Regardless, it looked grand with all the yellow and blue crystals attached to it.
Darion and Leo turned towards the second building and walked towards it.
There were two knights standing there too. They didn't stop them and instead, opened the door and allowed them to enter.
'Uh, is it really alright to enter like this? What about checking? Shouldn't they search our bodies to see if we have weapons or something that can assassinate the people inside?', Leo wondered as he questioned himself.
But his question was soon answered as there were some more guards just inside who did a thorough check-up.
Yes, right after they entered, there were three separate sections – one for males and another for females. The last one was for all those who didn't come in the category of males or females. This was true for the pets that were neutered.
Regardless, they had to remove their entire clothes for the search to be taken, only if they were found suspicious. If the first search of searching their pockets and everything went smooth, they didn't have to comply with the extra search.
In any case, the search was completed. Other than Leo's ring, nothing else seemed suspicious.
"This is…", the knight asked.
"Ah, it's a ring from an old lady.", Leo smiled and replied humbly.
The knight after checked the ring thoroughly.
'Weird, I thought I sensed a little soul power from this, however, this looks ordinary…', the knight thought as he held the ring in his hand.
He then returned it to Leo who after wearing it, walked away to the inside.
Soon enough, they arrived at the main room where two women and a man were sitting on decorated expensive chairs.
"Excuse me, sir, they have come to sell a beast's corpse.", said a knight that accompanied them inside.
The man looked at the two ladies sitting on chairs to his right and left to stop talking.
Yes, they were discussing some matter exactly when Leo and Darion arrived.
"A beast's corpse? Can I see it?", the man asked.
"Yes.", Leo nodded his head and then asked the knights to get the small trolly in.
The knights were holding onto it and after hearing him say that, they brought the cart inside and removed the black clothing with which it was covered.
"Ah…", the man walked towards the beast's corpse and took a look at it.
He scratched his head
"You should have used a spatial ring to store it…", the man said.
He was the owner of the auction hall of Berela. He was responsible for all the activities and transactions. Basically, he owned all the auction halls out there but had visited this place for some discussions and plans for the future.
The two ladies who stood up from their seats as soon as the owner walked towards Leo and Darion, were the ones who had been handling the house in his absence.
The owner would usually manage the main Auction House – the Auction House at the Capital of the Sun Empire,
"I don't have one…", Leo shook his head.
"Hmm…", the owner could see that the boy was from some poor background.
The same was true with Darion. He too seemed poor.
So he started doubting them.
'The heart is missing…'
"Were you the ones that killed it?", he asked.
Darion replied, "He was the one who killed it."
"He ate its heart and is now an awakened cultivator."
The moment Darion mentioned that the owner seemed surprised.
He looked at the boy and said, "You…"
"You killed it…?"
The owner was just a normal civilian who had no awakening whatsoever. He reached his status after rigorous hard work and had an eye for talents.
"Ahem."
"Well, welcome esteemed guest, the beast corpse that you brought is not in the best condition."
"Also, since it is one of the common beasts, the price should be as low as 9 silvers to a max of 2 gold coins."
"However, considering the fact that this beast is larger than the average Night Cats, the minimum bid will start at 1 gold and 2 silver coins.", he said.
His attitude suddenly changed when he heard about Leo's awakening.
Leo wasn't sad about the price at all. He said, "That's good."
"When can I get the money?", the question followed right after.
"Unfortunately, the auction is on a leave for a week. It will be opened next week for items to be sold.", the owner said.
Leo frowned a bit as he had to hurry back the same day.
"Ah, don't worry, I will give you the minimum pay and a spatial ring as a gift.", he said.
"Huh?", not only was Leo surprised with the sudden generosity, the two ladies and Darion seemed surprised as well.
'This man…'
'Is he the infamous Lou Reiki? The one who is said to identify talents with just his smell and sight?', Darion chuckled when he recalled this.
