To Mrs. Hudson, this Chinese girl named Christine was like the perfect tenant. She had a bubbly personality, with no bad habits. Christine never brings back any dangerous objects, tidying her room very often, and knew how to cook delicious meals. And that wasn't all. The girl was also very humble, willing to listen to any suggestions.
The only thing was that when she starts working, Christine never comes out of her room, not even when it was mealtime. However, she would always thank Mrs. Hudson when the meals were delivered. Compared to the two previous tenants, she was just flawless, although one of the previous tenants was a bit more like ordinary people.
Another thing was that Christine always had to leave Baker Street every few months, in the name of gathering fresh ideas. Christine was a free author, with no publishing company, meaning no permanent income. That was the main reason why she had to leave Baker Street to find new ideas, then come back and get her head stuck in work for another one or two months.
Mrs.Hudson had thought of helping her in some way, but even she had to get by with the shallow amount of rent she received every month. Plus, she did not know any important people who might come to her help.
Of course, in the past 2 years, quite a few famous people had lived in this unit. Since the previous tenant had jumped off the roof of a hospital, this place had become quiet. The other tenant couldn't stand the pain and memories, choosing to move out, not even leaving his phone number behind.
Mrs. Hudson honestly couldn't think of any ideas to help this Chinese girl who had moved into a strange new city all by herself.
To Christine, her life was just as perfect as it can be.
Ever since she was young, Christine had thought of becoming an author. Her mother did not contradict her, in fact, she had supported her in some way. For this reason, Christine left home at the age of 18, starting her journey. To tell the truth, it wasn't a pleasant journey at all. No matter it was the journey to gather fresh ideas, staying up late, or meeting a dead end. Every time she had thought back of this bitter journey, she had been sad. Until she had come to London Baker Street until she had met Mrs. Hudson.
This gentle kind old lady was like her mother, giving her warmth and taking great care of her. Christine loved this feeling. And for the sake of Mrs. Hudson, and herself, she had chosen to stay in London.
It was not a smart decision. Prices were very high in London, by making this decision, it was also unfair to her mother who was way across on the other side of Earth. But after a long chat with her mother, she had unexpectedly agreed with Christine's decision, suggesting she settle down for now, even when they were now more than 20,000 km apart.
Christine had been traveling for more than 10 years, with no permanent address, making it very hard for her mother to find her. For this, Christine had decided to stay at 221C Baker Street, and do her best to survive.
That was not an easy task to do, but after 2 years of hard work, Christine had finally become quite a well-known author, having her own spot on one of London's famous newspapers. She now had enough money to move into a better unit. However, Christine decided to stay at 221C Baker Street, along with Mrs. Hudson, and the two other empty units that were never open for rent.
