Steph lay on the bed listening to the phone vibrate with another text message from the anonymous texter. At least once an hour, she was bombarded with threats and reminders of how much time she had left. At first, it was annoying, but then it made her nervous. But now, fear was edging in. 

She knew she could block the messages, but she was afraid if she did, the caller would escalate the timetable, and Steph still didn't know what she wanted to do. Kimmy told her to sit tight and let the company investigate. She said to turn the phone off and ignore the messages, but then she couldn't take Hong Gi's call. She knew he would call. He always did.
