Capítulo 12: Chapter 12: Feelings & Secrets

As Zoe got into the car the next morning with Dylan to head to work, he reached his hand out for hers. This time, instead of jerking her hand away, she linked her fingers inside of his.

She took a deep breath, allowing all of her anxiety to escape. Simply touching him was enough to send her off the edge, and when their fingers met, it was electric.

She did her best to follow what he had said, to live in the moment. She tried not to get ahead of herself and to focus on the moment. They were only holding hands. It was just his hand.

But as he moved his thumb over her index finger, the electricity started again. The surge through her body, the feeling nearly overwhelming. She could barely hold on.

“Do you feel that?” she asked, hoping not to sound stupid.

“I’ve always felt it. That’s how I knew that you were different, and unlike anyone else, I have ever met. That’s why I took you to my favorite restaurant,” Dylan said, continuing to rub his thumb over her hands.
