The Creature hovered there inside him, permeating every fiber of his being. It exerted just enough pressure to make it clear to Ciprian that it could take complete control of him if it wanted to.
Ciprian scrambled to regain a semblance of himself before it was too late. The fear over what the Creature had shown him with Loma still gushed out of him like blood from an unstaunchable wound.
The Creature reveled in it. It stirred up his yearning and hunger, making him wish Wren was there so they could enjoy it together.
Rowan made his Shadow Walker weak. The Creature would make him strong again soon.
When Mallin didn't knock again, Ciprian hoped maybe he had left. He still wasn't sure how the adherent had found him, exactly. He may have sensed something down in the tavern, but Ciprian had been sure to use his magic to keep Mallin's attention off of him directly.
Karl is such a trouble maker. And I want to feel for Mallin, but he hurt Lysander's feelings. I'm not sure I can forgive him yet.
