Capítulo 39: "Am I Your Mate?"

Jade's breath hitched. The kiss became hot and passionate. Demanding both instants to do something delicious. But Max slowly let go of his lips. His eyes were still closed, and so was Jade.

Slowly Jade opened her eyes and saw Max's handsome face still ignited with lingering lust.

The sound of gasping for breath was heard. While Max's hand touched Jade's cheek.

"I love you, and you know that," Max began to say.

Jade nodded, but she didn't understand what Max meant by that.

"But I... I don't know why I can't believe you for Ace's death, Jade," said Max.

Jade looked directly into Max's eyes. Her eyes widened in shock and she took a step back from where she was.

She still remembered that Max said he believed her. But now, her boyfriend said otherwise. And Jade couldn't rest easy on that.

"I need some time away from you, Jade. I need to ... find out," Max added.
