Elijah Butler gently embraced her, and whispered soothingly, "Cherish, the baby is fine, don't worry, lie down for now!"
With the assurance that the baby was fine, Cherish Turner finally felt relieved. This child was her lifeline; she couldn't afford to lose it.
"William Griffith has been waiting outside. Do you want to see him?"
Cherish shook her head. Right now, she didn't want to see him.
She was so tired, too tired to keep revolving around him.
William waited anxiously outside and breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that the baby was okay. He didn't dare to appear in front of her too easily, afraid of upsetting her further.
Elijah understood William's emotions, but he couldn't let him see Cherish.
As she left the room, Elijah said to William, "You should go. Give her some time. It's better for both of you."
William was left with no choice but to leave.
After a while, Sam Turner hurriedly returned, but didn't find his sister but Elijah.
"Where's my sister?"
