"I cannot believe we are forced to put our faith in this child, He's barely a teenager." A feminine voice echoed in Will's head.
"There isn't much to it, he may not look like much now, but believe it or not, he's the hope we have against defeating the curse that is incoming." A baritone voice replied.
Will opened his eyes to a twilight sky with the bottom of the sun touching the edge of the horizon. His bed had been moved while he was out and his brother's had been switched too.
"I wanted you to have something nice to look at when you woke up." John said.
"How sure were you that I'd be up by this time?" Will said still looking at the sunset.
"Well, I always took note of your sleep pattern," John said as he smirked.
Will looked around the room, first at the IV tube above him and then to his brothers leg in a cast.
"We aren't gonna see Mr. Woo anymore are we?" Will's voice sounded shaky as he said those words. John still had nothing to say.
"I thought so," Will continued.
He looked to the side of his bed and on the counter was the remote control. He turned on the television on the wall and on it was the sports channel showcasing an american football match, a sport that neither John nor Will were into. He then switched to the music channel and on it was a Korean Pop Band singing about explosives.
"Cringe!" the brothers both exclaimed and then giggled.
Afterwards he switched to the news channel which was doing a small face-off show between two politicians running for the mayoral postion of the city both proclaiming changes to the city they wish to govern.
"All lies and baloney." John commented.
"Look at the headlines at the bottom." Will said.
John glanced up, frowing at the headlines, 'GANG KILLS SHOP-OWNER IN CONVENIENCE STORE AND INJURE TWO'.
John tried to console Will who casually switched the channel to Anime and began to watch.
"Oh, you boys are up." The doctor smiled as he came into the room.
"You're in a better mood, Will.", he continued as he came to check his IV tube.
"The nurse will be here to get you some food and a bath." He said with another smile.
"Finally, I was already starting to smell like a donkey," John joked with the Doctor.
"How long have we been here though," Will asked.
"Its been exactly Two days," The doctor replied.
"Woah", Will seemed surprised, knowing there would be no one to pay the hospital bills.
"Calm down, there was actually a young, goodlooking man who came in here to pay for everything, he says he is a long lost friend of the family," The doctor explained.
The brothers looked at each other in confusion as to who actually knew them.
"He says he's actually a friend of your parents and that he'd want you both to be at your best health when you get out, he'll be here to see you both on the day you discharged," The doctor added with a smile.
"A friend of our parents?" They said in unison.
****************************************************
The birds all came down to collect nectar from the flowers all around the garden. The diversified colors of each flowers of the garden added to the aesthetics and the smell in the atmosphere in the garden. The evening sun gave a nice gleam to the fountain at the corner of the garden, which was in the shape of a pheonix spouting out water.
In the middle of it all was the Pale skinned girl meditating. She crossed her legs and was levitating above the grass. She wore a white silk robe lined with gold sashes and her ornaments were glowing bright light.
"Seems you've been practicing becoming one with nature," Alexander said from the balcony of his room above the garden.
The girl opened her eyes and looked at Alexander with a smile. She then levitated to the balcony which he was on and gave him a warm hug.
"Yes I know you missed me," Alexander smiled at her.
"You know, she's not the only one in this house Lex", said a voice below them in the garden. It was that of a young white girl who had masculine features. She wore a grey crop top which had mini rips across its chest that revealed a bit of cleavage. On her left arm was a black arm sleeve which was the smae color as her choker and skirt. She had a wooden talisman on her neck which was a shape of a bird. She had red hair which she shaved and parted to the left showcasing the scar on her head. Beside her were tow boys who both wore black body huggers with silver outlines on them and on the chests were crests of phoenixes. One of the boys looked Asian and had a slick back hair style which was jet black but wore glasses while the other looked caucasian and wore a purple beanie and had a purple scarf to match covering the bottom of his face.
"You all should know that I love you all equally and I don't play favourites," Alexander said innocently.
"Oh we know you aren't playing favourites," the girl said to Alexander with obvious sarcasm.
"We only just said that you don't play with us anymore because with each duel we draw closer to surpassing you," She said with a smug look while flicking her hair to the side.
"Oh I see what this is about," Alexander said now taking the girl's words more seriously.
"Is that how you feel, Olivia?", Alexander said as he did a front flip to land on the grass below.
"Yes," Olivia replied.
Alexander then looked at the two boys, "Is that how you feel, Elliotte, Kim?" He said to them to which they both nodded in agreement.
"Well, that's not what my twenty eight to nil streak says", Alexander said with a laugh.
"We'll see about that." Olivia said taking a battle stance and the boys did same.
"Oh, right now? It'd be a shame to make it twenty nine", Alexander said taking off his cloak which distintegrated into thin air. He then also took a stance but of someone who wanted to dance, his left hand was behind his back while his right was in front of him beckoning the trio in front to come at him.
Immediately, Elliotte and Kim ran in criss cross manners with Olivia in the middle to confuse Alexander. In that instance, Olivia appeared above Alexander throwing mini fireballs at him to which he easily dodges by evading them all while his hands were behind him. Elliotte manipulated his shadows to become spikes that attacked Alexander who made himself levitate above them so they could not touch his shadow. Kim then came at him with wooden stilts, trying to hit him in mid air but Alexander proved too quick for him. Olivia then pulled out kunais which she marked with flame sensors and threw them at Alexander who sends a clone of himself to guard the real him from taking such a hit. Elliotte then emerged from the shadow Alexander casted behind him from the explosion, he stabbed Alexander in the back with the spikes from his shadows but instead of a fleshy feel, his spikes tore through cloth. Alexander had substituted himself for his cloth and this caused the cloth to blind both Elliotte and Olivia.
"Seems I'm still too quick for all of you," Alexander boasted from the fountain he stood beside.
As he laughed, Kim attacked him from behind with more wood projectiles which Alexander deflected with his palms already hardened with magic. Olivia threw more explosive talismans at Alexander from the left while Elliotte took advantage of the Shadow it casted to the left. Soon Elliotte locked on to Alexanders shadow casts and it seemed as though he had been held down by the Shadow manipulation.
"We have been doing a lot of research on our maneuvers Lex." Olivia said with a smug look as she itched closer toward Alexander. It seemed as though they would have their victim cornered. Elliotte held him down with all his might while Kim used wood manipulation to hold his feet to the ground as Olivia drew closer to touch Alexander.
"Nice work, sadly it's not enough." Alexander smiled at Olivia which she saw for only a split second up close. He then proceeded to project a clone into their trap allowing the real body jump out of the predicament. The clone them melts into a wax figure which has one of Olivia's talisman in it causing it to explode and pour wax all over the three challengers.
"And thats how to dance." Alexander concludes with a bow. He then proceeded to laugh at the sight before him.
"We almost had him that time." Olivia said in anger. She was then interrupted by a pat on the head by Alexander.
"It was never really a match," Alexander bragged.
"Though I do see the effort all of you are putting into the training I recommended." he said with more empathy.
"Elliotte, you really are getting better at shadow marionetting and Kim's wood control is becoming more defined." Alexander commented
"And Olivia is getting good at becoming a team player." Alexander looked at her as he patted her head again causing her to look up and blush a little before stiffening her face to avoid the embarrasment.
"We aren't push overs, that's why we want you to notice us too," said Olivia to which Elliotte and Kim nodded. Alexander laughed again as the pale girl came down toward him.
"I notice every single one of you," He began.
"I know that every single one of you has a unique gift to bring to this house," He said again as he looked to the sky which was already lit up by the full moon.
"That's why this time, I'm going to need you all to bring your best, especially with all thats happening." Alexander said with a concerned face.
"What do you mean, Lex?" Olivia questioned the house head.
"Well, there's going to be a tournament between houses and there is gonna be a lot of intense training coming up, I just hope my house would be ready for it," he looked at the gleaming faces of his house members.
Olivia walked up to him and punched him in the stomach, something he didn't expect.
"That's for ever having doubted us in the first place." Olivia said with confidence
"We are going to crush whatever training and tournament there is," Olivia said while raising her hands to the sky. Alexander looked on in pride and smiled.
"Let's get em." He encouraged them, to which they all yelled. With such young fire in their eyes and courage in their hearts, Alexander was sure that they would all triumpth over the tournament and then the ethereal forces.
"Wait!" Yelled Olivia.
"Aren't we forgetting something." she stated.
"Yes, we are still shortened by two, but that is already being taken care of." Alexander replied.
