Martha refused to leave the door. She simply placed her body in between the door and Kurt.

 She was almost at Pepper's New Jersey apartment where Starr and Kurt had been staying since the incident with June when June called her in panic. 

Now, she was doing everything in her power to keep Kurt from going anywhere.

"Mom…mother, please leave the door" Kurt told her in his matter of fact voice.

He was getting fed up and he needed to leave now to make the drive to the camping ground if he was going to get there before it was too late.

Kurt looked at her. He looked closely and saw through the pouted lips and iron exterior to a terrified mother beneath.

At that moment, she wasn't Martha Knight AKA Hurricane Martha or the debutante billionaire, at that moment she was just a mother terrified for her child.
